Striker considers future after Leeds move collapses

Steve Tilson concedes Southend United are unlikely to be able to afford to sign Dean Morgan on a permanent basis. Morgan has returned to Luton Town after marking the end of his loan stay at Southend United with two goals against Dagenham in the FA Cup on Saturday. Luton's administrators subsequently accepted an offer from Leeds United, only for the striker to fail to agree on personal terms at Elland Road. But while his future now appears to be uncertain, Morgan is unlikely to be returning to Roots Hall on a long-term basis. Southend boss Tilson told the club's official website: "I haven't heard anything from Dean and I don't really know what's going on. "The last time I spoke to him he seemed set to go to Leeds, so I don't know why he hasn't. "If clubs like that are after Dean though it seems unlikely we would be able to afford him."
