Leeds seal first summer signing

Leeds have signed Brighton winger Sebastien Carole on a free transfer.

Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell has made his first signing of the summer, in the shape of Brighton winger Sebastien Carole.

The 23-year-old joins The Whites on a free transfer after activating a release clause in his contract following The Seagulls' relegation from The Championship last season.

Blackwell is delighted with his first close-season dip into the transfer market and believes the wide-man will be a useful addition to the squad as United look forward to a renewed tilt at The Championship.

"We're delighted to complete the signing of Seb," said Blackwell. "We're always on the lookout for players who can strengthen the squad here and Seb fits the criteria of what we are looking for.

"He's a young lad, he's ambitious, and he did well at Brighton last season during a tough year. He's got good pace and can play on either flank. He's a welcome addition to the squad."

The former Monaco man joined The Seagulls last summer and made 36 starts, scoring twice.
