Brighton have insisted they will be demanding 'substantial' compensation from Leeds for Dan Harding.

The 21-year-old, out of contract at The Withdean Stadium, has agreed a three-year deal at Elland Road.

However, Brighton supremo Dick Knight has stated that the South Coast outfit will demand big money for the England Under-21 international.

"The stories about a £250,000 offer from Leeds weren't true - but if they had offered that, I would have rejected it out of hand.

"He has huge potential. He is an England Under-21 international and they expect him to be a major part of their future.

"I think the compensation will be decided by a Football League tribunal, and I am happy with that situation.

"Dan has been with us since the age of 14, and everything he has achieved has been because of us."
