Leeds United's out of favour former England international Nicky Barmby is set to join Nottingham Forest on a month's loan on Friday.

The former Liverpool, Everton, Middlesbrough and Tottenham winger has featured just once under Eddie Gray this term and three showings in total all season.

Leeds have agreed to the loan move and Forest are hoping the England man, who has been capped 23 times by his country, will be available for their clash against Bradford City.

Barmby was brought to The Whites by former boss Terry Venables, who worked with the Hull-born star whilst in charge of the national side and Spurs.

The 30-year-old is reportedly keen on moving to the City Ground, swapping a Premiership relegation battle for a First Division one in the process.

Barmby's transfers have totalled over £19 million and the winger started on the left wing in England's stunning 5-1 victory over Germany back in September 2001.
