BRAZILIAN national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has urged Terry Venables to take the plunge and sign Kleberson.

With Parma believed to be leading the chase for the midfielder, Leeds will have to act quickly if they want Kleberson in their squad for the start of the new season.

However, despite selling Rio Ferdinand to Manchester United for £30 million, whether Leeds will be happy to get into a bidding war for a player remains to be seen.

Scolari said: "Kleberson is one of the best players in Brazil right now.

"My plans are to build a team around him that will be good enough to defend our title in Germany in four years time."

Kleberson himself admitted: "I really want to play in England.  I hope something happens soon."

Atletico Parnaense have insured Kleberson for £20 million but are expected to cash in on their star as soon as a suitable bid is made.
