It was revealed last week that Leeds have watched the 20-year-old utility man on numerous times over recent weeks and could be set to make a move for him before Thursday`s transfer deadline.
However, Lawrence revealed that he is already steadying himself for a late bid on Thursday and would be likely to send Leeds packing.
"I heard those rumours," he said. "I`ve had no contact from anyone at Leeds, not in the last week or two. It could be one of those where they just wait until deadline day, and put you under pressure, we`ll just have to wait and see.
"We would have been a bit vulnerable to that last year when we were in receivership, but it is different this year."
