Sky Sports understands Nottingham Forest are close to signing Tom Ince on loan from Hull City.

Ince has also been linked with Derby and Blackburn but Sky sources have been told Forest are at an advanced stage with the deal, as they look to strengthen following a disappointing run of results.

Forest remain seventh in the Sky Bet Championship table but their promotion challenge has faltered somewhat, following seven league games without a victory.

Ince joined Hull from Blackpool in the summer and he started their first three Premier League games of the season but he has not even made the matchday squad for their last six fixtures.

A move to Forest could kick-start the 22-year-old’s campaign and would give him a chance to work once again with former England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce, who now manages the City Ground club.
