Blades boss says there is no benefit in midfielder leaving on loan

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson is adamant there is no benefit in Stephen Quinn leaving Bramall Lane on a loan basis. Former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international Quinn was the subject of interest from several Championship clubs prior to the closure of the transfer window. Blackpool were understood to have seen an offer for the midfielder rejected and reports have suggested there could be renewed interest now that Football League clubs can sign players on loan. However, Wilson is not planning to let Quinn leave the League One club and says the 25-year-old is vital to the Blades' hopes of winning promotion. Wilson said: "I don't fear the loan window opening up at all and I can't understand for the life of me why someone might think that is going to be the case. "What would be the benefit of us letting Quinny leave? Absolutely nothing. "It is not even an issue for anyone here. Stephen is pivotal to what we are aiming to achieve."
