Slovenian midfielder set to move to KC Stadium
Skysports.com understands Hull City are closing in on a deal to sign former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Robert Koren.
Slovenia international Koren has been available on a free transfer since being released by West Brom at the end of last season following the club's promotion to the Premier League.
He impressed during the World Cup finals for his country and is now on the brink of reaching a decision regarding his club future.
The 29-year-old has attracted interest from several teams during the summer, with the likes of Blackpool, Celtic, Leeds, Leicester and Wolves all rumoured to be admirers.
However, it is now understood that Koren is on the verge of sealing a Bosman move to Hull to boost Nigel Pearson's squad.
Hull are ready to offer Koren a three-year deal to make the move to the Championship side.
The Tigers' midfield has seen plenty of change over the summer, with George Boateng, Dean Marney and Stephen Hunt all leaving, while the club are also looking to offload Jimmy Bullard.
James Harper and John Bostock have been added to Pearson's ranks, but his options were depleted further on Tuesday by Seyi Olofinjana's loan move to Cardiff City.
Pearson is now in a position to increase his numbers by winning the race to snap up the skilful Koren for nothing.
