Coppell looking at free agent defender

Bristol City manager Steve Coppell has confirmed free agent defender Liam Rosenior has joined the club on trial. The 24-year-old began his career with the Robins before linking up with Premier League side Fulham in 2003. Rosenior, who finished last season on loan with Ipswich Town, is looking for a new club after being released by Reading. Coppell is happy to run the rule over the talented defender and help him maintain his fitness levels ahead of the new campaign.

Two-way trial

"It is actually a two-way trial - we are looking at him as an out-of-contract player and he is looking for a club," Coppell told the club's official website. "I know Liam believes some Premier League clubs are looking at him and he needs to be playing games for fitness. "We are looking for players so it is a mutually-beneficial arrangement."
