Striker impresses in pre-season friendly against Aberdeen

Hull City boss Phil Brown is optimistic about adding another player to his squad in the shape of Senegal striker Henri Camara. The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Wigan Athletic and has been training with the Tigers in pre-season. He featured in Sunday's friendly against Aberdeen and is due to hold talks with Brown regarding a deal at the KC Stadium. Brown has spent all summer trying to improve his attacking options and is hopeful Camara will join Jozy Altidore in accepting a move to the Tigers.

Impressed

"I was impressed with certain things that Henri provided," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail about Camara's performance against Aberdeen. "He's got something different that we haven't got and if we can sit down and thrash out a deal, then there's a possibility he could be a Hull City player. "I'm sure we'll do that in the next 48 hours." Meanwhile, Brown has expressed his disappointment at missing out on the signing of Habib Beye after the full-back turned down Hull in favour of joining Aston Villa. "I was disappointed because we were that close," added Brown. "We'd agreed terms with him and the club, but there was something niggling in the back of my mind when he wasn't signing. "Lo and behold, it was proved by the fact he went to Aston Villa."
