Tigers expect to have Zayatte and Mendy back on final day

Hull City boss Phil Brown is hoping to welcome Kamil Zayatte and Bernard Mendy back into his squad this weekend. The Tigers face a crunch clash with Premier League champions Manchester United on Sunday, with their top flight status still hanging in the balance. It is therefore imperative that Brown has the strongest possible squad available to him at the KC Stadium. The return of Zayatte and Mendy will certainly help his cause, with the duo looking to shake off concussion and a toe fracture respectively. "Both players have been outside (in training) and while they're still wrapped up in cotton wool, they've got a chance" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "Bernard will probably need pain-killing injections but where Kamil is concerned, it's a head wound so it's rest and recuperation.

"Once he's feeling headache free, then he gets back to his usual fitness. "He's not lost any of his fitness in a week to 10 days so providing he keeps improving, he'll have a good chance. "Where Bernard is concerned, he's been out there with the physios and it will be a matter of coaxing him towards the starting line to be able to play." Hull know victory this weekend will guarantee they beat the drop, while anything less could see their fate rest in the hands of others. They will be without Angolan striker Manucho, under the terms of his loan agreement from United, but Caleb Folan returns from a three-match suspension to help fill the void.
