Peter Halmosi has spoken of his pride as Hull City go from strength to strength in their first-ever campaign in the top flight.
The Hungarian international switched to the KC Stadium from Plymouth in the summer for a fee in the region of £2million after the Tigers had sealed their historic promotion to the Premier League.
Most pundits expected the club to go straight back down, given the last team to come up via the play-offs - Derby - performed so miserably last term.
But Phil Brown's side are confounding their critics, having notched up four victories and two draws in their opening seven games to sit in third in the table.
Halmosi is relishing every moment of this success story, including the victories on the road over Newcastle, Spurs and - most surprisingly - Arsenal .
He told
skysports.com: "I'm very proud that - at least once in my life-time - I can say that I am a member of a team which is third in the Premier League.
"Hull are new-boys and have never played in the highest league but it's a fact that we are ahead of such star teams as Arsenal or Manchester United.
Special feeling
"Winning against Arsenal in London was another very special feeling. I live through huge things here that I'll never forget. Fortunately I feel the trust and appreciation of the club, my manager and my team-mates."
Asked if he felt like a star, he added: "There're such players whom I consider to be stars like Geovanni or George Boateng. But they don't behave like stars.
"Of course, there are exceptions but I think most of the PL stars are the most modest footballers. Our team is not a star team but it's like a family. This may be is the reason of our successes."
He added: "Our squad is quite strong so our manager has the possibility to rotate the line-up if it's needed.
"This is also a reason why the English league is the strongest championship on earth - each team has a big squad so the clubs are able to send out two different starting 11s for two different, forthcoming games."
He added Premier League football presents different challenges compared to the Championship, which he also described as 'tough'.
Pace
"The pace of the game is high too but in the Championship you have to catch the rebounding balls after forward plays so you have to run a lot and there are lots of fights for the ball between the players.
"In the Premier League they play football. The players handle the ball very well, they can pass very accurately and it's difficult to get the ball. It's because they are the best footballers in the world.
"In the Premier League I get tired physically in another way than in the Championship."
While Halmosi is enjoying every minute with the Tigers, he added the team's success is also having a massive impact on the city.
"In Hull, there's football-fever but it's not a surprise as we have started our first PL season sensationally.
"Victory against Fulham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham - we're writing history game by game."
