Hull City's golden boy Geovanni insists he is not surprised by the club's impressive start to the season.
The Tigers have taken the Premier League by storm this term, securing memorable victories at Arsenal and Tottenham in their last two games.
Their North London double has helped the club climb into third spot in the table, placing them above the likes of Manchester United and the Gunners.
The undoubted star of their meteoric rise to prominence has been Brazilian playmaker Geovanni, who was on target at Emirates Stadium and White Hart Lane.
The former Barcelona man has earned a reputation for grabbing spectacular goals, helping Hull silence those doubters who questioned whether the club could hold their own among England's elite.
"I was expecting this," Geovanni boldly told the Hull Daily Mail.
"We always try and do the best we can but we've got a lot of quality players here and this is exactly what I'm expecting.
"I try and do the best that I possibly can and the team do their best so what happens, happens. It's a very difficult league to play in but if we play like we did this week and last week, we'll do well.
"I'm really happy here. Opportunities come about in life that you have to really think about and I'm really pleased that I've made the move to Hull."
Geovanni's stunning 30-yard free-kick was good enough to see Hull past Tottenham on Sunday, his third strike from distance this season after previous efforts against Fulham and Arsenal.
"Obviously I'm really happy and it's a great joy to score the goals at Tottenham and last week (against Arsenal)," he added.
"It shows that I'm valued in the team and that I'm going to have opportunities this season. I'm really happy with the way things are going.
"We're really enjoying it a great deal up to now and we've got the chance to rest for a couple of weeks (through the international break). When we start back again, we'll put all our efforts into doing the best we can."
