Nigerian midfielder hoping for upset

Jay-Jay Okocha is optimistic about Hull City's chances of causing an upset in Wednesday's Carling Cup clash against Chelsea. Jose Mourinho's dramatic departure, when added to the swift appointment of Avram Grant and the loss to Manchester United on Sunday, means Hull meet a side who are in a mini-crisis. Okocha tasted victory against The Blues during his time at Bolton Wanderers, when in December 2003 The Trotters ran out 2-1 victors at Stamford Bridge. The Nigerian trickster explained that the triumph is still firmly imprinted in his memory, and he is eyeing another famous win at the KC Stadium. "How could I ever forget a result like that? It was a brilliant victory and is a great memory to look back on," Okocha said.

Encouraged

"It showed what can happen on any given day and that has encouraged me about the possibilities of what could happen when Chelsea arrive at the KC Stadium. "I don't think they will look forward coming to a place like Hull - and some of their players will not even know where it is."
Fantastic coach
Meanwhile Hull boss Phil Brown has given his backing to Grant, and is confident the Israeli coach will earn the respect of the Chelsea squad. "I know Avram from when he was in charge of Israel and (Tal) Ben Haim was a Bolton player," he said. "I went out to watch him play for Israel on two or three occasions and met Avram. "He is a fantastic coach, a good man-manager and he had the respect of the Israeli national team. I also think he will gain the respect of the Chelsea players."
