Hull City winger Kevin Ellison has turned down the chance to join League One side Scunthorpe United.

The former Leicester City, Stockport County and Chester City player has opted to remain with The Tigers, despite both clubs agreeing a £100,000 fee for the 27-year-old.

Ellison has opted to try and build on the 26 appearances he has made for Hull since arriving at The Kingston Communications Stadium in January 2005.

"The situation is that we've received an offer from Scunthorpe, but Kevin has declined the opportunity to join them," chairman Adam Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail.

"As things now stand, the player will be back for pre-season training in July."
