Former England international Nick Barmby says he has not fallen out with Hull manager Peter Taylor.

Barmby cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines after being omitted from the 16-man squad for Saturday's 2-1 win over Derby.

It had been reported that the pair were involved in a bust-up and chairman Adam Pearson admitted the forward was less than impressed at being dropped.

Barmby has confirmed he was upset at being axed, but says his relationship with Taylor has not soured.

"It's ridiculous to say I've had a bust-up with the manager and that type of talk disappoints you at times," Barmby told the Hull Mail.

"I want to play and of course I'm disappointed, but I defy anyone not to be disappointed by being left out.

"As usual things have been put out of perspective but the main thing is Hull City. I'm not bigger than Hull City and neither is any player."
