Stockport County have clinched the double signing of former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Michael Malcolm and Hull City goalkeeper Matt Duke.

19-year-old Malcolm was recently released by Tottenham, after failing to make a single appearance for the North London side, and has penned a two-year deal at Edgeley Park.

Hatters manager Chris Turner took Malcolm on trial during pre-season and the youngster impressed, scoring twice in friendly victories at Alfreton and Leek.

Malcolm is joined at the League Two outfit by Hull goalkeeper Duke, with the 28-year-old agreeing a one-month loan deal with the option of a two-month extension.

Duke had been widely expected to sign for League Two rivals Chester City but Turner has moved swiftly to gazump his opposite number at Chester, Keith Curle.

Both Malcolm and Duke are expected to feature in Stockport's first match of the new season against Mansfield Town.
