Oldham Athletic have released David Lee while Aaron Wilbraham has returned to Hull after a loan spell.

Lee has not had his contract renewed after previously having inked a one-month deal at Boundary Park.

The recent loan acquisition of three Premiership players has rendered Lee surplus to requirements, with Latics boss Brian Talbot wishing the player well.

''David came to us at a time when we were struggling with injuries in midfield and has helped us through a difficult period,'' Talbot told the club's official website.

''I would like to thank him for all his efforts during his short stay and hope he gets fixed up with another league club.''

Meanwhile, Wilbraham has returned to his parent club having made five appearances.
