Scunthorpe United manager Brian Laws has confirmed his interest in Hull City goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite.

The 35-year-old (pictured) has been told he will not receive a new contract from The Tigers for next season, having made only 19 appearances for Peter Taylor's side during this last campaign.

"I'm looking at certain players and goalkeepers for next season and Paul Musselwhite fits into that category," said the Iron boss.

"He's one of the few keepers I'm looking at."

His interest in the veteran custodian comes after news that eight Glanford Park players have agreed new one-year deals with the Division Three side.

Steve Torpey, Lee Ridley, Cleveland Taylor, Wayne Graves, Terry Barwick, Richard Kell, Lee Featherstone and Andy Parton have all agreed to stay at Scunthorpe for another 12 months.

Veteran winger Peter Beagrie, meanwhile, remains the only player not to commit as yet to a new deal, having asked for more time to make a decision.

"I'm pleased that the players have committed themselves to Scunthorpe United," added Laws.

"Peter Beagrie has just asked for more time and he will let me know early next week."
