Hull City have signed versatile defender Richard Hinds to a deal that will keep him at the Kingston Communications Stadium until the end of the 2004/05 season.

The 23-year-old joined The Tigers at the end of May on an initial one-year contract with the Third Division high-flyers.

He has gone on to impressed manager Peter Taylor enough to earn a deal that has been extended to the end of next season, having been an ever-present in his first team squad this term.

"I'm pleased to sign on for another year and it's nice that the process has been completed quickly," Hinds told the club's official website.

"The short-term deal that I came here on was designed so that I could look at the club and they could look at me and things have worked out well.

"There are some good players here, we've got a solid team, the fans are great and the stadium is great."
