Barnsley have signed Emmanuel Frimpong from Arsenal on a permanent deal.
The midfielder joins the Championship side on a contract until the summer after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.
Frimpong came through Arsenal's academy and broke into the first team early in the 2011/12 season.
But he suffered the second cruciate ligament injury of his career while on loan at Wolves in February 2012 and was sent out to Fulham for the second half of last season.
"I'm really excited to be here," the 22-year-old told Barnsley Player. "Everything happened really quickly yesterday.
"He (Danny Wilson) called me yesterday and wanted me to come play and help the team push out the relegation zone. Hopefully I can help the team achieve that this season.
"I wouldn't say I'm fit yet, but the only way to do so is to play games. The more I play, the better I'll get."
