Latics duo scoop accolades

Image: Jose Baxter: Took home two awards on the night

Lee Croft and Jose Baxter shared the top honours at Oldham's end-of-season awards night held on Tuesday.

Former Manchester City and Norwich winger Croft pipped the influential forward and Jean-Yves Mvoto to the fans' player of the year award, while Baxter won the approval of his team-mates with the players' player of the year gong. Goal of the season also went to the one-time Everton protege for his spectacular strike in October's 2-0 win over Leyton Orient at Boundary Park. Ex-Sunderland defender Mvoto was honoured as player of the year by the Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Trust Oldham, while fellow centre-back James Tarkowski took home the players' young player of the year prize.
