Sky Sports understands managerless Barnsley are interested in holding talks with the club's former defender Darren Moore.
Barnsley are bottom of the Championship table and in the process of looking for a new manager after parting company with Keith Hill late last month.
The Tykes have already encountered frustration in their search after former Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll and Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher both turned down the vacancy.
It is now understood that Moore, who is currently a youth-team coach at West Bromwich Albion, is on Barnsley's list of possible options.
Moore has performed a solid job with West Brom and made over 70 appearances during a two-year playing stint at Oakwell between 2008 and 2010.
David Flitcroft is in caretaker charge of Barnsley and will continue at the helm for Saturday's Yorkshire derby at home to Leeds United.
