Jack Hunt paid tribute to Huddersfield owner Dean Hoyle after the defender signed a new one-year extension with the club.

Hunt, 21, who committed himself to the newly-promoted club until the summer of 2014 in April but delayed the announcement until after the play-offs, was named in the League One team of the season and voted Huddersfield's young player of the year after an outstanding campaign. "It was a very easy decision, even before promotion," Hunt told the club's official website. "I joined Huddersfield Town as an eight year old and I've seen a lot of changes over that time, but the biggest has been the arrival of Dean Hoyle, who is such an ambitious chairman. "I've loved being a part of all the positive changes at the club and I want to stay here. The facilities such as Canalside are all moving forward and we are a Championship-standard club - if not higher. "All the improvements will attract better players to the club, which will complement the great manager, chairman and players we already have. "I didn't know how much I would play at the start of this season when we brought the likes of Gary Naysmith and Calum Woods in, so I'm delighted with how things went."
