Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton has confirmed Kelvin Etuhu is likely to be offered a two-year contract and is confident the winger will agree to stay.
Etuhu joined Pompey on a month-to-month deal in January and he scored once in 13 appearances as the club were relegated from the Championship.
He revealed last month that he would be happy to stay at Fratton Park, but the 23-year-old has subsequently attracted interest from Barnsley and Bradford City.
However, Appleton is eager to hand Etuhu a long-term contract, despite Portsmouth's financial plight, and believes the former Manchester City youngster will remain on the South Coast.

"I am going to be making Kelvin an offer over the next 24 hours - if I can get hold of him!" Appleton told

"Seriously, I believe he is on holiday at the moment so it is a case of getting him at the best time.
"It will probably be a two-year deal and, hopefully, he will accept that and is ready to stay with us.
"I think he has proven his worth since we gave him an opportunity and he helped push us hard in a difficult end to the season.
"It's something I would like sorted out quickly and Kelvin has indicated to me he would like to stay with us."
