Winger would find it difficult to leave club he loves

Kelvin Etuhu has expressed his desire to remain at Portsmouth and try to help the club bounce back from relegation to League One. While it could be a summer of rebuilding at Fratton Park and a number of players are expected to leave, Etuhu insists that he is loving life on the South Coast. The 23-year-old arrived at Pompey in January and has been touched by the support he has been given by the 'best fans he has played in front of'. He has so far been working on a month-to-month deal and would now like to stay at Portsmouth for longer and repay the faith shown in him. "I'd love to stay at Pompey. The manager gave me a chance to get back into football," Etuhu told the club's official website. "I love the club, I love the staff and I love the fans - it would be very difficult for me to go somewhere else.

Switched off

"The fans have been so important - they're the best supporters I have ever played in front of. I mean that sincerely. "Without them there would be no club, so we always go out and give our all for them in every game." Etuhu was disappointed that Portsmouth could not end their Championship campaign in style after losing 2-0 to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. He said: "It's a shame we couldn't end on a win. We just switched off on a couple of occasions and allowed Forest in. "We picked ourselves up and tried to get back into the game and I felt we were a little bit unlucky to lose."
