Reading have bolstered their attack with the double signing of Jason Roberts from Blackburn and Tomasz Cywka from Championship rivals Derby.
Thirty-four-year-old Roberts - who has moved for an undisclosed fee - has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with the Royals, while Polish Under-21 international Cywka has joined on a free transfer until the end of the season.
Roberts has netted only one goal for Blackburn this campaign, but has been a Premier League player since gaining promotion with Wigan in 2005 and Reading chairman Sir John Madejski is thrilled to have brought in an established top-flight player.
"I am delighted that a player of Jason Roberts' calibre has decided to sign for Reading," said the Royals' supremo. "He will bring enormous experience to the club, and I wish him every success helping his new team-mates."
Cywka, meanwhile, has also only netted once this term, but that goal came against Reading in a 2-2 draw with Derby back in October and the 23-year-old has turned down a three-year deal back in his homeland to join Brian McDermott's men.
Roberts has been given the No.33 shirt, while Cywka has been allocated No.41.
