Defender still struggling with rib injury sustained against Barnsley

Coventry will send Martin Cranie for a further X-ray in a bid to discover the full extent of a rib injury which threatens to put him on the sidelines. Cranie sustained the problem during the 2-0 defeat to Barnsley on Saturday, and is still in pain several days after the incident. And manager Andy Thorn revealed the Sky Blues' medical staff are keen to find out exactly how bad the damage is to the defender. "He's had an X-ray but he's still pretty sore," Thorn told the Coventry Telegraph. "The results didn't show a break or fracture or anything but he's in that much pain that we are having to have another one done to scrutinise it even more. "They seem to think it might just be really badly bruised but he can hardly move or breathe."
