Former Coventry trainee aims to prolong his career on Merseyside

Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry is bristling with excitement after signing Martin Devaney from Barnsley on a one-year deal. The experienced 31-year-old has plied his trade for the last six years at Oakwell and has made over 400 Football League appearances. "I am delighted to bring a player of Martin's quality to this club," Parry told the club's official website. "He's a great crosser of the ball, can beat players and pick out a team-mate.

Creativity

"He'll add creativity to our squad and look to get forward as often as he can, providing some great opportunities for our strikers. "He's got great experience in the Championship and will be a great addition to our squad." Devaney, too, was thrilled at the prospect of starting a new chapter of his career at Prenton Park. "I'm looking forward to the next 12 months and doing well for the team," he said.
