Vitesse hitman to miss rest of campaign with knee problem

Vitesse Arnhem have been dealt a blow with the news striker Marcus Pedersen has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old Norwegian picked up a knee injury in training last week and consequently went under the knife to remove a part of the inner meniscus. The Eredivisie outfit confirmed on their official website that the surgery had been successful, but revealed Pedersen is now facing six weeks on the sidelines. "There were no complications or further damage found," read a club statement. "The operation can be called successful. The recovery will take approximately six weeks." Pedersen's injury comes as an unwelcome setback for Vitesse, who head into their final four games of the campaign just six points clear of the relegation zone.
