Barnsley have completed the signing of West Brom goalkeeper Luke Steele on a one-year deal.
Steele enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Oakwell last season and helped the Reds reach the FA Cup semi-final with impressive displays against Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Chelsea.
The 23-year-old made 17 first-team appearances for the Tykes in all competitions as regular stopper Heinz Muller remained on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury.
"We are delighted to have netted Luke on a permanent basis after he performed so well for us last season," Tykes boss Simon Davey told the club's official website.
"We now have two top quality keepers in Luke and Heinz who will both be vying for the number one jersey at Oakwell next season. That is very healthy competition and is what we are looking to achieve in every department."
