Hull produced a late rally to move into fourth place after a dramatic 3-2 win over MK Dons at the KC Stadium.
The hosts got off to a dream start with the opening goal inside the first minute from Stuart Green.
Izale McLeod drew the visitors level on 33 minutes and Ben Chorley gave them an unlikely lead with the second on 76 minutes.
Michael Keane drew Hull level on 88 minutes and they grabbed the winner in the dying seconds with Green notching his second of the night.
Chesterfield piled the misery on bottom of the table Stockport with a resounding 4-0 win at Saltergate.
Sammy Clingan fired them in front on 16 minutes and Tcham N'Toya added a quick second five minutes later.
Steve Blatherwick netted a third on 51 minutes before Mark Allott wrapped up the game with the fourth six minutes from time.
Doncaster took the spoils in their Yorkshire derby with Barnsley at Oakwell.
Doncaster were gifted the lead on the stroke of half time with an unfortunate own goal from Paul Reid.
Gregg Blundell doubled the lead on 57 minutes and Doncaster put the game beyond Barnsley with another own goal from Tony Vaughan two minutes later.
Michael Chopra pulled a goal back for the hosts on 71 minutes, but it was too little too late for Barnsley.
Both sides finished with ten man with Jacob Burns seeing red for two bookable offences and Ricky Ravenhill dismissed for Doncaster.
