Tykes trial Taylor

JOURNEYMAN striker Robert Taylor is undergoing a trial with Barnsley.

The Norwich-born forward has been on the move since leaving Manchester City in 2000 spending loan spells at QPR and Gillingham before winning a move to Grimsby Town.

However, The Mariners are prepared to let the 31-year-old go if he can find an interested club.

Barnsley manager Steve Parkin is set to take a closer look at the target-man before deciding whether he could help the club out of Division Two.

Meanwhile, The Tykes have terminated the contract of youngster Chris Miller who is now set for a return to Scotland.

19-year-old Miller came through the Oakwell Academy but could not break into the first team and has been allowed to leave by the club.
