Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is adamant his team can still avoid relegation this season as he prepares to tackle champions Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Pearson's side have been propping up the rest for over three months but are still only four points from safety. However, he acknowledges that time is running out for his side to haul themselves clear of trouble.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "There's no getting away from the fact we've got to get better results. We've got to get back to winning ways. Obviously, the next game gives us a very tough test.

"So, it's important we're positive and play as well as we can. What will define our season from hereon in is our own results. When you consider we've been bottom since November and the players have gone out and put out the performances they have, that shows a resilience in itself.

"As the season wears on, the pressure certainly does build. There's no getting away from that and my job is to keep that off the players so they can free their minds to go out and play.

"It remains to be seen how successful we are at doing that. But, I believe we can turn the situation around."

"We're more or less a fully fit squad. Kasper Schmeichel will be available in a week or so too. He's been back in full training, so really we're not doing too bad."
