Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says he has not ruled out adding to his squad ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

Pearson had previously admitted he was struggling to attract new players because of the Foxes position at the foot of the Premier League table.

Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric joined from HNK Rijeka for £7.5m and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea, but Pearson is still keen to strengthen his squad.

He said: "We have tried to do the business that we wanted to do and got two done very quickly, if we can strengthen we will but I don't know.

"I've got no idea if it'll go right to wire - I won't be sitting in my office until late. In an ideal world I don't see why deals are done so late, if you get involved with that you do but I certainly won't be getting involved myself.

"All I think about is what we're trying to do, I'm not interested in other people. We have tried to do the business we wanted to. It's nice to have options, we've managed to keep a relatively fit squad and hopefully that will continue.

"I have always said I back my players, if you speak to the players they would be keen for us to strengthen but it is only if you can strengthen. I don't see the point in just collecting players, it's nice to have options of course."

When asked if any Leicester players would be likely to leave Pearson admitted that anything was possible until the window closes.

He added: "We are not in a position where we want to let anybody go anywhere, it's all about adding but never discount anything because you never know.

"There has been speculation surrounding a couple of our players but we have had no bids to my knowledge."

Pearson also revealed that Mattew Upson's injury nightmare is over and he is ready to make his Foxes return.

The defender is yet to play for Pearson after suffering a foot injury immediately after joining the club from Brighton in the summer.

Upson may still sit out Saturday's Premier League trip to Manchester United but Pearson does expect him to make his bow imminently.

He said: "Upson is more or less available now which is very positive for us, he's got a lot of experience.

"Some players need a few more games but someone of his experience and game understanding would get more from being involved with us and training with the first team.

"Hopefully once Matt gets on the pitch he can do what he set out to do. It's been frustrating for the lad too.

"I'm delighted I have someone of his ability and experience becoming available for an important stage of the season. Players don't get injured on purpose, it's good to have him available."
