Leicester manager Nigel Pearson is still unsure if a deal for ex-Argentina international Esteban Cambiasso will go through before the transfer window closes.

Pearson has become frustrated that the move for the former Inter Milan midfielder may collapse despite several weeks of talks and negotiations with various 'representatives'.

Leonardo Ulloa, Matt Upson and Marc Albrighton have already moved to the club but Pearson is keen to add depth to his squad before the transfer deadline on September 1.

The only one that is in the public domain and has been for a couple of weeks is Esteban Cambiasso. We've not really made too much progress on that as things stand but I'm still hopeful something could be done.

"We are looking to bring more players in," he said. "I don't think it's right to talk about players publicly when we've not achieved the deals.

"It may not be football issues. It's slightly more complicated than I'm prepared to discuss.

"Unfortunately at times it's quite a complicated process. It appears to be a case of various 'representatives' coming out of the woodwork so it's a case of getting to the bottom of who represents who and trying to achieve the goal, which is to add players to the squad.

More from Summer Transfer Window 2014

"We'll have to see what happens. If deals can be done and they are the right people then fine. I think it's fair to say we could do with one or two more players to give the squad more strength in depth.

"That's not to say I'm not pleased with the players we have already, but it's probably going to be important to have one or two more players available to go from window to window."
