Sky Sports understands Leicester City are poised to sign Port Vale youngster Joe Davis.
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has targeted a move for Davis as he sees the defender as one for the future at the King Power Stadium.
Davis, who has come through the youth system at Vale Park, made 12 appearances for Vale's first team last season and caught the eye for the League One side.
The 20-year-old is out of contract and he has turned down a new deal at the club, meaning Vale will be due a compensation fee for his services.
Leicester have agreed a deal for Davis and the centre-back is expected to link up with the Foxes' development squad before stepping up to the first team.
