Leicester manager Nigel Pearson wants to move quickly in the transfer market to steal a march on his Premier League rivals.
The Foxes have identified the players they want to bring in to improve the squad ahead of their first season back in the top flight after a decade-long absence, and want to take advantage of the Football League season ending - with the Premier League still ongoing - to try to get the deals done.
"We have identified the players we want to add," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.
"We have sensible people involved in the football management and a clear understanding of what this club currently has, and what we need to improve it as a side in year one in the Premier League.
"We don't believe in just throwing a net out a huge distance and pulling in what we pull in. We are very specific about what we want and need, and how we get it. We have been working towards this for a long time so this situation does not hit us cold.
"We are prepared for this and, the targets we have identified, we have a window of opportunity now before the teams involved in play-offs or the teams still involved in relegation battles in the Premier League can move on them.
"If we can do things quickly then we will do it, but we might not be able to because of other circumstances."
