Leicester City have confirmed that midfielder Andy King has undergone a scan on his Achilles injury.
The 23-year-old suffered the injury during the club's home defeat to Barnsley last weekend and has been on crutches ever since.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson refused to speculate on how long King would be sidelined, but admitted he was bracing himself for bad news.
"Andy is on crutches and we will have to see how bad that is," said the 48-year-old.
"It clearly is not going to be a matter of days, it will be longer than that. But we will deal with it, simple as that."
