West Bromwich Albion striker Chris Wood is waiting for talks over his future, but appears open to the idea of seeing out the season on loan at Birmingham City. The New Zealand international has impressed in reaching double figures during his time at Birmingham which is currently due to end in early January. Blues boss Chris Hughton confirmed on Friday that the two clubs are in ongoing talks regarding Wood and has yet to make a decision on whether to prolong his time at St Andrew's. Wood is enjoying the opportunity to play regular first-team football and believes staying with the Championship club may be the 'best option' for him.

No rush

"We haven't talked about it yet," Wood told the Birmingham Mail. "We will get these next few games out of the way and see what's the best situation for all of us. "I can go to the end of the season, if that's what we agree on, but it's a case of waiting and talking after these games. There's no rush. "I have loved my time here, I have enjoyed the experience. "The lads are a good bunch, the coaching staff as well. So it's worked out well here and if we extend the deal that might be the best option."
