Almeria have confirmed the sale of striker Kalu Uche to Swiss outfit Xamax for 4m euros (£3.5m) plus add-ons.
Leicester and Swansea were also in the running for the African ace, who was linked with a move away from the Spanish side following their relegation to the second tier last season.
But the Swiss side emerged as favourites to sign the Nigeria international, who can also operate in midfield, and have now landed their man.
Uche arrived at Almeria from Polish outfit Wisla Krakow in 2005 and notched up more than 170 appearances for the club.
