Kenton and Wesolowski head to Whaddon Road

Cheltenham Town have signed Darren Kenton and Leicester City midfielder James Wesolowski on loan. Kenton has linked up with the Robins on a free transfer, having been without a club since leaving Leeds United at the end of last season. He trained with Bristol City in August and new Cheltenham boss Martin Allen is confident the defender will be an astute acquisition. Allen told the club's official website: "He is a strong, solid defender who is only 30 years old. "He is fit and a good player and a good man that I remember from my short time at Leicester City. He will certainly help us."

Tenacious

Wesolowski has joined on a three-month loan from Leicester and could make his debut in Saturday's game against Brighton & Hove Albion. "James is an Australian, uncompromising, tenacious midfielder," added Allen. "He is young, he is hungry and I'm very grateful to Leicester for allowing him to come here." Meanwhile, Jerry Gill has left Cheltenham to take up a player/coach role with non-league side Forest Green Rovers.
