Lincoln are waiting on Leicester's Alan Sheehan to decide whether to join the League Two outfit.
Sincil Bank boss John Schofield has confirmed a loan move has been made for The Foxes defender.
Schofield is hopeful of landing Sheehan, but knows a drop down in divisions could sway him against the move.
"We've made an offer to Alan, who has been told he can go out on loan," he told the Lincolnshire Echo.
"Alan wanted the weekend to think about the move, which I can understand, because it's a drop down the divisions."
