Leicester City manager Craig Levein has confirmed he is trying to sign Alan Maybury and Mark de Vries from former club Hearts.

The Tynecastle pair, who are out of contract in the summer, have been the subject of official enquiries from the English Championship side.

Levein's successor, John Robertson, is already resigned to losing the duo during this month's transfer window.

Defender Maybury and striker de Vries (pictured) are sure to be welcome additions with The Foxes, as Leicester aim to push up the table from their current position of 15th.

"It's something we've been working on," confirmed Levein.

"But it would be wrong to say too much at this stage."
