Forensic tests have shown there is no link between Paul Dickov, Frank Sinclair and Keith Gillespie and the three women they were alleged to have sexually assaulted.
The trio were arrested in Spain in March after the alleged unsavoury incident in La Manga.
The club's chief executive Tim Davies said lawyers for Dickov, Sinclair and Gillespie had now applied for them to be cleared of the charges.
"There is nothing that links our players with the girls," said Davies.
All three men, who deny attacking the three women, are set to return to Spain later in the summer for a hearing over the charges.
