Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers are in talks with Juventus about a move for Chile international Mauricio Isla.
Juventus are thought to be willing to let Isla leave on loan and QPR are understood to have registered their interest in the player.
Isla, who featured for Chile at the World Cup, has been with Juventus since 2012 after arriving from Serie A rivals Udinese.
A number of clubs are thought to have expressed an interest in Isla, but QPR are in pole position to land the versatile performer.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp is determined to add to his squad before the start of the new season and Isla's versatility in that he can play at right-back or in midfield makes him an attractive proposition.
