Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes did not want to dwell on Anton Ferdinand's decision to snub John Terry and Ashley Cole prior to the 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Centre-back Ferdinand refused a pre-match handshake with the pair having accused Terry of racial abuse in the corresponding fixture last season.
Terry was cleared in court, where Cole stood as a character witness, this summer but a Football Association charge, which the centre-back denies, is ongoing.
Hughes, though, wanted to ignore the pre-match behaviour and instead preferred to credit the effort of his players after they became the first team this season to take points off Chelsea.
After the draw with last season's UEFA Champions League winners, the QPR boss told
Sky Sports: "The handshake was something everybody was trying to focus on, we certainly were not.
"Our focus was totally on the game against the European champions on our patch. We were absolutely intent on being sure we had the right performance level today.

"I think we were able to do that."
Hughes, whose side have yet to win in the Premier League this season, thought the display was an improvement on the defeat by Manchester City before the international break.
And he is now looking forward to top-flight games against Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.
"On the day, we will take a performance that we are pleased with and we will take one point and move on," said Hughes of the efforts against Chelsea.
"The important thing from our point of view is to make sure the improvement in performance continues. That certainly happened today.
"We have got games coming up that we feel we will have a real opportunity to take maximum points from and that is because I can see the team coming together, getting stronger, having a real understanding about the strengths and weaknesses of each other."
