Roger Johnson has warned Djibril Cisse that he will get sent off every week if he reacts to rough tackles like he did during Queens Park Rangers' defeat by Wolves.
The French striker saw red at Loftus Road on Saturday after clashing with Wolves skipper Johnson.
He was angered by a late challenge from the centre-half and grabbed him by the throat after bouncing back to his feet.
Cisse claims he acted out of line as he has suffered two broken legs in the past and was of the opinion that Johnson's tackle could have forced him back onto the treatment table.
The Wolves man does not concur with that train of thought, though, and believes the QPR forward needs to calm down if he is to steer clear of further suspensions in the future.
"I was surprised by Cisse's reaction," said Johnson.
"I understand he's had some bad injuries and he was probably disappointed with my tackle. But you get late tackles and if he's going to react like that he'll get sent off every week."
Honest
On his challenge, Johnson added: "I've seen my tackle again on the video and it wasn't a red card.
"I thought I could win the ball but I'm obviously not as quick as I thought I was.
"It was an honest tackle and I was late. I've not gone to do him.
"My first leg went past the ball. My trailing leg just caught him and nipped him off his feet.
"I didn't go through the back of him. I came around the side, he was just too sharp for me.
"I've never gone out to do anyone. I've never been sent off for a reckless tackle."
