QPR goalkeeper happy to give Warnock selection dilemma

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Radek Cerny thinks he will lose his place in the starting line-up if Paddy Kenny is fit for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday. The veteran Czech has been thrust into first-team action over the past three weeks with both Kenny and second-choice keeper Brian Murphy absent due to injury. Cerny has impressed during his time as a stand-in, with QPR manager Neil Warnock admitting that he has been left with a dilemma ahead of the clash with the title chasers. Although the 37-year-old was pleased with the praise from his boss, Cerny expects Kenny to win back his place if he is fully recovered from a muscle injury. "If Paddy is 100 per cent fit he will most likely be picked. But if the manager says something like that, it is very good for me. It means I did well in my role," he told isport.cz.

Special

"Managers like to not know who to pick and it gets worse only if he has bad players and has to decide who to play." But Cerny did admit that it would be a special moment if he was selected to face the defending Premier League champions. He added: "Anyone would be tempted. For every footballer it is a special day no matter how many seasons you have been here." Cerny is out of contract at the end of the season and although he is planning to return to his home country at some point, he would like to spend one more season at Loftus Road. "We have been discussing it over and over at home - when we will finally return to the Czech Republic. I have been returning for five years now," he said. "I arrived in London for a year but this is my seventh. I never thought I would be here so long. "If I had the possibility I would like to stay one season more. The Premier League is the best destination you can reach if you are a professional footballer."
